Black Lives Matter activists have been launching protests all over St. Louis, Missouri over the past three weeks over a former officer’s acquittal for murder charges. On Tuesday night, the protesters tried to block traffic on a highway to protest against racial injustice.
Unfortunately for them, however, it didn’t take long for this to backfire…
The Political Insider reported that at least 126 protesters were arrested last night by St. Louis police officers. One of the arrested protesters appears to be Missouri state representative Bruce Franks Jr.

Police warned drivers about the protest at 7:40pm, and by 8pm, they had moved the activists off the road, ordered them to the ground and began systematically handcuffing them and putting them in vans for transport.
This is the second time since the acquittal of former officer James Stockley in the 2011 shooting death of Anthony Lamar Clark that a mass arrest such as this one has occurred. On September 17, 130 protesters were arrested in a “kettling” operation, an action that prompted misconduct lawsuits from the ACLU and others.
